tarunchughbjp1 copyChandigarh – Blaming Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh of speaking half truths, the BJP today asked the Congress leader to also come out with a statement regarding role of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and former MP Jagdish Tytler in 1984 anti-Sikh riots. While welcoming the decision of the Supreme Court regarding re-investigation into 186 cases by a SIT, Tarun Chugh, the National Secretary of the BJP said that Capt Amarinder while talking of ‘suspected’ role of Sajjan Kumar in 1984 anti-Sikh riots preferred to keep mum on the role of Rajiv Gandhi and Jagdish Tytler.

Chugh urged Capt Amarinder to also speak on Rajiv Gandhi’s Ramlila Ground speech wherein he had justified the riots.  He also asked the Chief Minister why he didn’t utter a word about the role of Tytler, Bhagat and other Congressmen involved in the massacre of Sikhs in national capital. The BJP leader said that there had been allegations of criminal conspiracy and provocation against scores of Congress leaders who were instrumental in brutal and fatal attacks against innocent Sikhs who were burnt alive and killed on the roads and streets of the capital.

He said that it was also alleged that Tytler, Sajjan Kumar, Dharmdass Shastri, HKL Bhagat and some other leaders had openly led and provoked people to kill Sikhs. He asked Capt Amarinder why he didn’t ask his party colleague Jagdish Tytler to go through a lie detector test.  He also urged Capt Amarinder to use his influence and ask AICC president Rahul Gandhi to direct Tytler to give consent for a lie-detector test. This, he said was necessary to ensure justice to the victims of 1984 and their families.
